Using painting and printmaking to live with and be more understanding towards the anxiety that I experience everyday. This project is not about glorifying anxiety, but is meant to serve as a reminder to listen to what this affliction is trying to tell me and help to identify the many masks it wears. I’ve represented different forms of anxiety into monsters, demons, and other creatures, building each of them a house to rest their feet, roots, and wings.

This series of interrelated paintings and prints depict the various dwellings and personifications of the anxiety that I experience. I used to show anger and resentment towards these meddlesome emotions and the characters I have developed to represent them. This expression of intangible mind-states and disconcerting voices has always been a cathartic process for me. I hope that others can identify with and even gain a sense of relief from this body of work.
